Non-Tapered Columns

Early columns from Roman times were part of architecture to ensure solid building design. In the past since trees are round, non-tapered round columns were the most common item for a building. Today's columns can offer both decorative and functional design.

Round columns are the typical favorite for buildings. In the past, non-tapered round columns were typically used for front porches to provide support and make an entrance welcoming. But not anymore. Now they are used to define room endings and beginnings or as pure classical decoration like adding trim to the walls.
